The pioneers weren’t often whimsical
but the small, 2-story Brick Cottage does have a playful quality. Standing next to the farmhouse, this little self-contained structure looks like the off-spring of an Old West assay office and Rapunzel's tower.
The ground floor of the brick cottage has thick walls and small square windows and a single bed. The bathroom has both a clawfoot tub and a walk-in shower.
On the upper floor, a beautifully wallpapered ceiling rises to a 10-foot center and tall windows open to light and views. Here the brick walls surround an imposing Empire queen bed, with a handmade oushak rug underfoot.
Enclosed in a canopy of trees, this building offers unusual privacy and haunting charm.
